Mariusa and her friendship with Spanish poet Rafael Alberti in Punta del Este, Uruguay

Created by Alicia 5 years ago

I'm Professor Alicia Cagnasso, from Uruguay, South America, and I'm writing a book about Rafael Alberti in my country, precisely in its most famous resort: Punta del Este.

Mariusa and her husband Theo Verbrugghe appear on the frontdoor of "La Gallarda", the beautiful house that Alberti had in Punta del Este, very near the sea.

Both names appear because Mariusa and Theo (Rosaline's parents) were very close Alberti's friends. Another very important names are painted on this door: Picasso, Argentinian writers Oliverio Girondo and Norah Lang, Spanish publisher Gonzalo Losada, Uruguayan writer Giselda Zani, Spanish architect Antonio Bonet (who designed "La Gallarda") and his wife, Ana María Martí, and so on.

My book is about this magnificent door, designed lovely by Rafael Alberti in 1946 and his friends will have a chapter about their lives.

Then, I would appreciate if Roseline or some of Mariusa'friends could contribute to thiss book sending some information about Mariusa and Theo. to my e-mail: aliciacagnasso@hotmail.com

Thank you all, so much!,
